When you press your start button, the electricity goes thru your relay to your solinoid, which activates the pull in coil... What this coil does ... the starter circuit is battery powers the starting switch which powers the solenoid on the starter which then feeds battery power to the starter ... The only way the starter will turn over is to jump it from the solenoid to the hot wire from the battery. With the key on or off starter engages engine turns ...
