Transform Your Steering Replace Tie Rod Boots for Smoother Drives

You don't have to take the tie rod end out of the knuckle you can just unthread the tie rod from the tie rod end and since the rack end is a ... unless you just happen to have it available... Quite sure the RH boot on mine is original and is as good as new still after 200k km. Both my tie ... Yes, you can change them without removing the steering rack. Jack it up, remove front tire, remove the outer tie rod attachment bolts from the steering knuckle. Unfortunately, you'll have to unscrew the tie rod end. Mark where the lock nut is located, crack loose it a tiny bit and then remove the outer ... Just replace both inner and outer including the boots while you're down there. The inners will give you a little more problem to take out than the outers.
