Sensory Overload Vibrating Rear View Mirror for Music Junkies

A vibrating mirror was the first symptom I had of a failing rear U joint in my '10 OR. As it got worse I could feel it in my backside on the seat. Any bass will shake that damn rear view mirror, and besides its annoying to have the radio on and look in your rear view mirror and you can't ... I've been using a Broadway mirror over my rearview mirror for almost 2 years now, and the issue I have always had with it is vibration and shakiness. You could try taking apart the mirror and putting a bit of sound deadening material on the inside. I used "Shoe Goo" on the ball joints because it dries to a clear, rubber-like texture... then I moved the mirror around so that the goo got into ... Hubby said don't mess with it. Do us wives ever listen? He&* no. I had it replaced. Now the rearview mirror vibrates and it's driving me crazy. My rear view mirror is loose and vibrates when im driving which really renders the mirror useless when driving/switching lanes. CAREFULLY tighten it in. It feels like it may be prone to overtorquing and stripping. Ever since I got the car the rear view mirror would shake ... Mostly, the mirror housing itself vibrates and creates extra noise due to the loose/cheap housing.... But, it also lowers its position down, ... Mount your mirror to something else, or turn it down a bit. There's really not much you can do, given that it's the sound waves causing the vibration.
