Looked great after 40k miles, virtually no evidence of wear. So I pulled the high pressure fuel pump and as I removed it I made sure the roller follower didn't fall out... I pulled it out and then ... As you can see on the dyno chart to the right, the factory fuel pump is out of fuel much earlier than the IE HPFP. ... With rigorous testing behind this ... The reason for this is aftermarket pumps use much stiffer springs, which massively increases the forces exerted on the tappet, wearing it out ... it took about an hour but the one that came out had no wear on it what so ever. ... now i dont expect those lads to hide behind the corporate ...
