P0410 is the secondary air pump circuit. If the relay fails when open replace the relay block in the module box on the right side of the engine ... "Secondary Air" is an abbreviated term for the "Secondary Air Injection System". This system uses a separate air pump and a series of metal and rubber tubes. P0410 "Air Pump Circuit Malfunction" is caused by a fault in air pump system (eg pump not turning on) NOT the vacuum system. This is most likely a failed secondary air injection pump ($300 at groton). it could also be just a failed valve (that will very soon lead to failed pump). Try testing the air pump itself to make sure it works. It only turns on in the first 30 seconds when the engine is cold. You should be able to hear it run. The most likely cause is a blown fuse in the Air Pump circuit, most likely caused by the pump seizing up from frozen water in the pump, or corrosion from water ... I have a 2000 chevy S/10 which I replaced the AIR pump about 3 months ago because of the dreaded P0410 code.Found it full of water and not ...
