I used to use Mobil-1 0w-40 in my Passat 2.0T. Would that work ok in the EcoBoost as well. It is formulated for turbo charged motors. The best one is M1 0w-40 becuase it's in a good price range , very widely available (Walmart @ $25 a 5qt jug) . 0W reduces start up wear and tear. 0W-40 is much better for the summer. Mobil1 SuperSyn 0W-40 is some pretty good stuff overall. You can certainly use 5W-30, but I wouldn't. I agree with others above. Unless there is a specific need to use another oil, stick with 5W-20.
