I know several people who are running a Mobil 1 synthetic 0W40 in all their vehicles. This is a European spec oil which I understand are made to ... In truth you can use any of the Mobil synthetic oils you have mentioned without concern. Dodge will not quibble with any of these selections ... The book says any API SN 0w-40, but only Pennzoil Platinum Ultra meets Chrysler engine spec. I believe Mobil meets Mercedes, etc...so should run just fine. The difference between 0W-40 and 5w-30 isn't too great but I guess 0w-40 would be great if you live somewhere that gets really cold.... They have been using 0-w-40 in Germany since i was there in the early 80's, driving tractor trailers. BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Saab, Citroen, etc.. At start-up, the 0w-40 will "act" thinner than the 5w-20. At operating temp, the 0w-40 will have more viscosity. Higher weights can reduce fuel ... So your car has 0W-34 now. This is still in spec, so no need to replace it. 2010 BMW 550i MT 2003 BMW 325i @216k and ... 5w40 will be a thicker oil that will maintain viscosity in the heat better.
