Overcoming Injection Pump Failure Causes and Remedies

The diagnosis from the seller was that the "fuel pump" wasn't working and there was voltage at the pump, but no pressure at the fuel manager. 2- there is insufficient fuel going INTO the pump inlet.. ... #2- simply pull the inlet line off of the pump and let it drain into a bucket..& ... I've traced the problem back to the FIP which isn't pumping any fuel. The FIP was completely refurbished at significant cost before refitting. Run the starter long enough to turn the pump (hopefully nothing is stuck internally....) enough to purge out all the old fuel from the pump and ... Try backing out the bolts on the pump side. If it works, then you'll need to pull the pump and make sure you didn't bend the push rod. The mechanical fuel pump is not pumping at all, bowl is full, filter is full... took the pump off and tried moving the lever and it pumps fine. Try pressurizing the fuel tank with an air hose, and use a rag to seal it. Are you sure the injection timing is correct? You need special tools ... And it was just sitting on a engine stand here.I have clean diesel fuel going into it,new primary filter plus put a new electric fuel pump on.
