Fog Light Short Circuit Causes, Symptoms, and Remedies

Trace the wiles back from the light houisings. There is either a broken wire or a loose/corroded ground connection for the lights. The problem is from that connector to the fog light and is probably a wire gone to ground somewhere when it wants to carry 12 volts to the fog bulb. I'd start by checking all your fuses and the wiring of the fog light kit that was installed. If all the fuses look good, maybe try to un-do any ... If a 15A fuse is blowing, there's a major problem. Best case the short is near or in the connector, which is the highest resistance part of the ... If you don't flip it and wire it up commonly color matched it will blow the fuse or blow the bulb. The connector does come apart pretty easily ... Your problem is most likely a bad ground connection in the fog light circuit, but it could also be a bad switch. To blow a fuse means a short. Chect the wire harnesses going to the lights carefully for spots that could be rubbing on metal somewhere. Did you check all your wires again to make sure you have good connections and nothing shorting out ? Sounds like it's kicking a breaker or ... Remove both bulbs, install the correct 15A fuse, turn on the lights again (you won't get any light since the bulbs are missing). Then go check ...
