If you change the entire headlight to halogen it will just plug in and everything will work properly, yes. Is it worth upgrading the stock halogen high beam bulbs to led or xenon? I would say yes, but you need to get the right stuff. I recommend just swapping out your halogen projector with HID projectors and then just buy quality OEM bulbs and ballasts.
