Castrol Edge is a Dexos 2 oil available in 0W-40. It is available at Wally World for $24 for a 5 quart jug. You're good to go. I prefer the 0W-40 just because most dealers use it. My next alternative I'll use is 5W-40 Castro Edge Euro but looking for other alternatives ... I use the recommended Mobil1 0W-40 in my 2004 Arc, at 271,000 miles I have zero complaints. Uses maybe a quart or two between changes but I go ... 5w-30 is fine, but I think you can use the Euro blends which come in 0w-40 and 0w-30. My Gen Coupe used 0w-40 Euro blend for most of its life. The book says any API SN 0w-40, but only Pennzoil Platinum Ultra meets Chrysler engine spec. I believe Mobil meets Mercedes, etc...so should run just fine. 0W-40 or 10w-40 ... I would use a 10-40 or 20-50, air temp and engine temp are the key factors. ... I'm watching you! ... listen to what a polaris ... They have been using 0-w-40 in Germany since i was there in the early 80's, driving tractor trailers. BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Saab, Citroen, etc.. Sure Mobil 1 is a cheaper alternative to the pricey Castrol, but what is really telling is that many owners don't mind the cost but want to make the best choice ... Wear Metals | QSFS 5W-30 and Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 performed equally well. Remaining Additives (TBN) | Mobil 1 FS retained significantly more ... 0w40 is thicker than 10w30. The lowest consumption I've seen was with Castrol Edge 0w40. It wasn't too bad with Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w40.
