Unlocking the Secrets of the PO305 Code A Guide to Resolving Cylinder 5 Misfires

I got an error P0305 saying that cylinder 3 was misfiring. All was good for a few days then the diagnostic code reappeared but stating that cylinder 5 is now ... My P0305 this week is apparently from a leaking valve cover that soaked the plug cylinder. The minor oil leak has been going MANY thousands of ... Ok, so after I replaced the #5 coil and still got P0305 codes and misfires under load... I ran through the remaining gas in the tank (octane 87) ... It also has a knock sensor code but I wouldn't imagine the knock would cause the car to run rough. Thanks for any help. P0305 is Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected. If that is what you had your mechanic repair, then take it back there...because it obviously didn't work. It's throwing a pending P0305 (cylinder 5 mis-fire). My question is where is the best place to start to fix this intermittent problem??? Plugs, ignition coil? Cylinder 5 misfire could be a bad spark plug but most likely will be a bad coil for that cylinder. I would change it out. Sent ... If the coil pack on cylinder 5 started to malfunction then even swapping the coils around could still give the same trouble code because ... Engine light is on, bringing up code p0305 cylinder 5 misfire. Car runs, but tends to sputter a bit while accelerating. Happens on and off. The sporadic issue comes with a few various possibilities.. the easiest being the injector is bad. The other not easy part is there is possibly valve leak.
